Fill in the details below and your FCRA dispute letter builds itself on the right. When it looks good, download it as a PDF or copy the text. Everything stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded or saved.
Print this, sign it by hand, and mail it. Keep a copy for your records.
Once the credit bureau receives your dispute, the FCRA gives it generally 30 days (up to 45 in some cases) to investigate. The bureau forwards your dispute to the furnisher, reviews the response, and must send you the written results plus a free updated copy of your report if anything changed.
If the item is corrected or deleted — great. If the bureau verifies the item but you still disagree, you can add a 100-word statement of dispute to your file, escalate a complaint to the CFPB, or consult a consumer-protection attorney. Keep every letter, receipt, and response.
